Promoting Peace Through Music

I chose ÐÓ°ÉPro because it is the kind of place where students can explore fields of studies that are innovative and meaningful to them. I’m a Piano Major with a Minor in Peace in Conflict Studies. I’m studying classical music by composers from non-western backgrounds and promoting their work to create a positive image around people of color.

ÐÓ°ÉPro allows me to work with top-tier faculty in music and take what I learn in class to perform in venues anywhere. They don’t just teach me how to play classical music, they give me the tools to accurately interpret all types to make my own unique impact. I still play Mozart and Rachmaninoff, but now I can use what I’ve learned to improvise and play world music.

At ÐÓ°ÉPro my professors applaud my curiosity, and I am encouraged to innovate in a major and minor I love.
